The House met yesterday and voted to override the governor’s veto of the mini budget, which includes funding to expand private school vouchers through the Opportunity Scholarship program, as well as enrollment growth funds for public schools and community colleges. The Senate is scheduled to take up the override vote today, along with the new relief omnibus bill. Stay tuned.
In other news, multiple news outlets are reporting that billionaire wrestling executive Linda McMahon is President-elect Donald Trump’s expected pick to lead the U.S. Department of Education. Trump, along with many other key conservative leaders, has previously pledged to dismantle the agency.
