NASSP, the National Association of Elementary School Principals, and the American Federation of School Administrators have declared the week of April 13–17, 2015, as National Assistant Principals Week to honor and recognize the contributions of assistant principals to the success of students in schools across the United States.
On Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. (ET), NASSP will host a live Google Hangout online event with the Wallace Foundation. School leaders from Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland — one of six districts supported by the Wallace Foundation to participate in its Principal Pipeline Initiative — will discuss how assistant principals are being developed and acquiring skills to become effective school leaders, as well as their experiences with strategies and practices that strengthen school leadership.
