Ryan Tuck

Ryan Tuck consults with EdNC on product and audience development. He has been working at news media companies for about 15 years in various capacities, including at McClatchy and at Bloomberg BNA. He also led user experience research at The New York Times, where he helped launch the company’s first-ever reader loyalty research community. He has been a community editor and audience manager at The Star-News in Wilmington, North Carolina, and at The Pilot in Southern Pines, North Carolina, where he launched a daily website and the company’s first-ever network of podcasts.

He has a B.A. in journalism and political science (and Spanish) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a master’s certificate in technology and communication also from UNC, and a law degree from the University of Georgia. When he’s not nose deep into media strategy, he loves being outside with his three kids and three dogs. His oldest child attends Farmington Woods Elementary School in Cary, where Ryan also started his education career (at Cary Elementary School).
