Rory Smuhl is a Master of Public Policy candidate at the Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy. Smuhl recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire in 2017 with a degree in environmental geography.  Originally from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, he has been involved in everything from operating an apple orchard to managing restaurants. During college, he studied the status of energy efficient buildings in the University of Wisconsin system and explored the future of gerrymandering in Wisconsin. Smuhl will be interning in Washington, DC over the summer before returning to Duke University for the final year of his Masters.
