Hannah Vinueza McClellan is EducationNC’s senior reporter and covers education news and policy, and faith. Formerly, she covered community colleges and postsecondary access at EdNC. She grew up in northeastern North Carolina, where she attended Currituck High School. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and global studies, and worked for The Daily Tar Heel and Wilmington StarNews during her time there.
Before coming to EdNC, Hannah covered education and local government at the Chatham News + Record, and she is currently a M.Div. student at Duke Divinity School in Durham. She also publishes a monthly newsletter on religion news in North Carolina, NC Religion Roundup. When she isn’t reporting or studying, she enjoys reading, long walks and procrasti-baking.
